About Sharp’s Painting
SHARP’s Painting, LLC, is a small family-owned business based in Bryson City, NC. We provide high-quality services to maintain your home; see our Services page for all the details. We’re proud of our work: high-quality, with integrity and completed in a timely manner.
Shaun Harper — S. HARPer, hence the business name “SHARP’s” — has been painting and providing other home services since he was 19. In Florida, Shaun worked for builders and in the warranty department of several large companies before he started his own home improvement business in the late 1980s. When we happily moved to western North Carolina in 2015, we immediately started SHARP’s Painting, LLC in 2016, including minor repairs and restoration of interiors, exterior and decks.
Ashley Harper joined the business when the couple moved to NC, utilizing her Interior Design degree to advise homeowners on interior and exterior paint colors, interior paint themes and decor — from rustic to modern. When you call, you’ll most likely be talking with Ashley who also manages the office and is often the point-person for estimates.
SHARP’s team member, James Moore, who worked for us in Florida, helped Shaun & Ashley move from Florida to North Carolina in 2015 and liked it so much, he moved his family here also. Besides being quite “sharp” at painting, he’s skilled at all the services we provide, and he’s an efficient, hard worker — although he’s not always dressed to match the paint he’s applying! We’re lucky to have him on board!
SHARP’s Painting donates a portion of our profits to Special Liberty Project in Franklin, NC, annually. We so appreciate the generous healing services they provide. From their website:
“The Special Liberty Project is dedicated to supporting Healing Veterans and Gold Star Families, including those who have lost loved ones to active-duty or Veteran suicide. We welcome and embrace these families just as we do all traditional Gold Star Families, providing a compassionate and understanding community.
“Our nature-based, therapeutic programs foster camaraderie, peer support, and healing. Through outdoor retreats and meaningful experiences, we offer Gold Star Families a space to connect, reflect, and rebuild, while providing Veterans with opportunities to heal alongside others who understand their journey.”
And we are grateful to be able to generously afford monthly donations to our local church, Compassion International, World Vision and Children International.
